Chili
Ingredients:
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 2 bell peppers, diced
- 2 14.5 oz cans stewed diced tomatoes
- 2 15 oz cans black beans
- 1 16 oz can whole kernel corn
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 Tbsp chili powder
- 1 t cayenne pepper
- ½ t cinnamon (optional)
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- salt and pepper
- shredded cheese and/or sour cream
Directions:
- Cook meat. Drain fat.
- Add onion and peppers. Saute until they start to brown.
- Add all canned ingredients, including liquid from cans. Add spices.
- Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until mixture reaches desired consistency.
- Ladle into bowls and top with cheese and/or sour cream.
11/12/2019 - added extra chili powder. Good amount of garlic powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano. Let simmer for extra time.
